The Business Forum “Decentralised Energy in Developing Countries", sheduled to take place on 2nd October 2018 in Vienna, Austria, features the release of the publication "Energy Access from the Bottom Up: Start-up and SME showcase 2018". The Business Forum is jointly organized by the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE), with the support of the Africa-EU Energy Partnership (AEEP) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) under the umbrella of the Global Network of Regional Sustainable Energy Centers (GN-SEC).

IRENA/ADFD Project Facility – 7th Cycle Call for Proposals

The IRENA/ADFD Project Facility is encouraging applications from government-driven renewable energy projects. USD 5 million to USD 15 million in concessional loans is available from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) at 1% or 2% loan rates, to cover up to half of the total project costs. The seventh cycle will open for summary applications between 12th November 2018 and 14th February 2019, however the application forms are already available to start working on.

The Global Network of Regional Sustainable Energy Centers (GN-SEC) was featured in the 2nd series of the publication "Good Practices in South-South and Triangular Cooperation for Sustainable Development".

As part of the 40th anniversary of the International Day for South-South Cooperation, the United Nations drew together on Wednesday, more than 100 best-practices developed in the countries of the global south, which embody the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
