Electric mobility based on Renewable energy sources offers an environmentally friendly solution to address the challenge of high emissions from the transport sector. It is one of the most promising new technologies at the intersection of clean energy and sustainable travel offering significant potential for reducing climate change impacts, boosting energy efficiency, enhancing transportation services, and improving air quality in cities and peri-urban areas.
By adopting electric mobility solutions, the EAC Partner States can address some of the pressing challenges in their energy and transportation sectors, paving way for a more sustainable and prosperous future. In the East African Community (EAC), there are existing efforts by some of the Partner States to promote electric mobility with varying efforts from each Partner State at different levels in terms of policy and regulatory framework. East Africa’s transition to e-mobility awareness creation, skills-development initiatives and efforts to increase access to finance for enhanced adoption of electric mobility at regional level. Based on this context, EACREEE is organizing an East African Regional Electric mobility workshop to offer enormous opportunities for knowledge and experience sharing for promotion, learning and identification of synergies among the Partner States.
