Ongoing Projects

Structuring of an International Network of Solar Technology and Application Resource Centers (STAR C) Project.

The main objective of the STAR-C project is to enhance regional solar energy quality infrastructure frameworks in International Solar Alliance (ISA) member states. The  United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the International Solar Alliance initiated the project with funding from the Government of France. The project focuses on the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the East African Community (EAC) and the Pacific Community (SPC).

Energy Access and Green Transition in Urban and Rural Africa( ENERGICA) Project

This is a European Union Commission-funded project in the area of electric mobility aimed at demonstrating the efficient implementation of renewable energy technologies to match the needs of the local context. Demonstration sites will rely upon local Energy Transition Boards which will manage community-scale Integrated Community Energy Systems (ICESs) for charging. The project is implemented in Kenya in East Africa, in Siera Leone in West Africa and in Madagascar in South East Africa.
