Managers, experts and teachers working at energy training institutes, universities or vocational centres in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in Africa, Caribbean, Indian Ocean and Pacific are invited to register for a virtual Train the Trainer Workshop of the "Online Capacity Building Program on Sustainable Energy Solutions for Islands".
The main objective of the workshop is to familiarise capacity building experts with all requirements and modalities to deliver the training models and to integrate them into the curricula and virtual learning environment of the institutions via the moodel platform. The following workshop editions are being offered free of charge:
Train the Trainer Workshop in English, May 30 to June 10, 2022, Deadline for registration: 25 May 2022, register here: https://agenda.ciemat.es/event/3908/

The Online Capacity Building Program on Sustainable Energy Solutions for Islands was developed under the umbrella of the Global Network of Regional Sustainable Energy Centres (GN-SEC) by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), the Small Island Sustainable Energy and Climate Resilience Organisation (SIDS DOCK) and the Spanish Centre for Research in Energy, Environment and Technology (CIEMAT).
The program is available free of charge in English, Spanish and Portuguese and aims to strengthen the capacities of SIDS energy experts in key areas, such as solar photovoltaics, solar thermal and ocean energy technologies, bioenergy, energy efficiency and thermal optimization in buildings, mini-grids and energy storage in insular power systems and e-mobility. Experts can participate as students undertaking the courses by self-learning or by joining conducted trainings.
Regional and national training centres and universities are encouraged to integrate the program as a tool into their curricula. The program is being disseminated by the GN-SEC centres covering SIDS, incl. the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE), Caribbean Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (CCREEE), Pacific Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (PCREEE), SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE) and the SICA Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SICREEE).
