Besides the challenges posed by COVID-19 pandemic in terms of restriction to organize physical meetings, SACREEE and EACREEE continue supporting the Southern African Development Communities (SADC) and East African Countries (EAC) Member States virtually by addressing the comments provided by the National Technical Committees (TCs) on the draft harmonized MEPS for lighting. A Third Webinar was organized to address these comments and to establish the necessary support required by Member States.


The International Solar Alliance (ISA) in collaboration with the French National Institute for Solar Energy (INES), the East African Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (EACREEE) and Centre de test des systèmes solaires (CT2S) has launched a series of webinars to build capacity on solar technology applications.

Nairobi, 20 January 2020: A one-week Micro-Grid Academy officially kicks off today at Kenya Power and Lighting Company Institute of Energy Studies, Nairobi, Kenya with over 60 participants from the East African Partner States and Italy. The Micro-Grid Academy (MGA) was launched in January 2018. In the pilot years of the training activities, it has managed to reach over 350 people mainly from the East-African countries as well as Ethiopia, Somaliland and Zambia.
