Member States from EAC and SADC countries gathered for a two days consultation and validation workshop on a new project launched in the two regions promoting Energy Efficient lighting and Appliances.

The inaugural meeting of EACREEE’s Board of Directors closed with a strong commitment for scaling-up its operations. The Board approved internal rules and procedures including Financial Regulations and Rules, Staff Regulations and Rules, Procurement Manual, among others. The approval of these instruments makes it now possible for EACREEE to contract, receive and make payments, receive funds and do all things that a legal entity can do.


The East African Centre of Excellence for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, EACREEE, organized a Consultation Workshop on Energy Efficiency with Ministry Representatives from EAC Member states. The workshop took place on 13th February 2019 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, within the framework of the Regional Consultation and Validation Workshop of the Preparatory Phase of the project: Energy Efficient Lighting and Appliances in EAC and SADC.
